REGION THREE WINNER
MARIA WRIGHT
Finance Director at Fix Auto Leicester
Maria started as Head of Finance, but we quickly recognised her talent and capabilities, promoting her within months to Finance Director. She has been transformational to our finance department and instrumental in ensuring that we have a strong financial foundation with steady cashflow levels, as we future-proof the bodyshop.
Our financial results exceeded all expectations, with a 92% turnover increase between 2022 and 2025, from £2.837M to £5.46M. During our challenging relocation to a 17-acre site following a £2.5M investment, and issues with liquidity management due to this expansion, Maria’s financial acumen helped stabilise our finances.
She has streamlined processes by embracing new technology – from automated supplier payment runs to integrating digital tools for increased accuracy, leading our transition to paperless operations, which contributed to our recent ARIES accreditation.
Last year, Maria oversaw over £81k of investment in new site equipment and improvements. We’ve seen tangible results from this expenditure, for example our £19k Repairify machine saved 328 hours of staff travel time for calibration work last year, achieving a £45.2k profit. Our £20k Bodyguard scanning system saved us 304 hours of time in 2025, equating to nearly £3.9k in costs.
She was named ‘Finance Leader’ at the East Midlands Finance Awards 2025, and recently helped implement a new bonus scheme linked to productivity, boosting motivation and long-term employee satisfaction.
Maria’s adaptability and strategic thinking has been pivotal to our continued success. She embodies Fix Auto’s rigorous quality standards, innovation, sustainability commitments, and customer-centric approach.

His measurable impact is undeniable.
